Clutton FRED

This is a site for builders, owners and fans of Eric Clutton's Flying Runabout Experimental Design, a classic homebuilt airplane better known as FRED. These pages were created in consultation with Eric and are maintained by homebuilt aircraft enthusiast and occasional microlight pilot Matthew Long.

I stumbled across Rick Coombe’s site about his FRED while combing the web for all things FRED.  My query returned an amiable reply from the builder, whose license has lapsed but who has many fond memories of building and flying his FRED.  G-BISG is now owned by Rick’s friend Tony Littlefair, who was also the owner of the Rollison Condor in photo above taken at Warborne Farm, Lymington, Hampshire in 1986.  Visit Rick’s page on G-BISB to learn how his airplane acquired the nickname “FuzzBee.”
