Clutton FRED

This is a site for builders, owners and fans of Eric Clutton's Flying Runabout Experimental Design, a classic homebuilt airplane better known as FRED. These pages were created in consultation with Eric and are maintained by homebuilt aircraft enthusiast and occasional microlight pilot Matthew Long.

  • FRED in need of wings

Jon Bright dropped me a line to let me know of another FRED taking shape in England.

Jon writes, “Just thought you might be interested in this picture of my FRED taken in June 2011. Registration is G-BGAH, started long ago by Graham Harris (I think). As of December 2010, it lives with me near Norwich, UK. I’ve started renovating what I have (which isn’t much!) and I’ve bought a set of plans from Eric. Once I’ve got my MiniMax back in the air I will turn my attention to FRED and hopefully it will one day fly.  You never know, someone might know where I can find some wings!”

Anyone have a spare set of FRED wings?  If so, please contact Jon.
